We, Anette and Juha, are the owner's of Kennel Xsanda.
We live in Lilla Edet about 50 km north of Gothenburg in Sweden and breed Lhasa Apso in a small scale were our dogs live with us as family members. We bought our first dog in 1976 which was a Collie, and we had Collie for 17 years. It wasn't until we bought our first Afghan hound and Borzoi in 1992 that we became interested in dogshows.
We wanted a smaller breed as well and had thoughts about Shih-tzu, but the Swedish Kennel club had a breedspecial about lhasa-apso in their magazine, which we found quite interesting. This breed was very appealing to us and knew right away that this was the dog for us. WaRona What's Love Gotta Do With It "Alice" was the first Lhasa-apso purchase for us, which we bought during fall 1993. She became our foundation bitch and in 1995 she gave birth to the first Xsanda litter. "Such Xsanda A-ha You Know Who" from the first litter became our first champion.
WaRona What's Love Gotta Do With It became champion as well. Through out the years there has been more champions and we're now on our 5th generation of Xsanda dogs.
We have been Top Winning Lhasa Apso Breeder 2002 - 2007 by The Swedish Lhasa Apso Club and also Breeder of Top Winning Lhasa-Apso bitch for three years and Top Winning Veteran 5 years in a row. We ended up as number 16th Top Winning Breeder of All Breeds on Swedish Kennelclub's breeders list 2008. That was particularly fun because the Lhasa-Apso club didn't have any Top Winning list 2008 and 2009.
So far we have had 13 litters in 14 years, but unfortunately I think this has been to little. The years went's by and the dogs gets old and you discover you haven't done what you should have done. But we look forward with optimism and hope for many more great years with our Lhasa-apso's and great friends which we've gained through Lhasa-Apso.
